Responsible policy

Statement

Zbirovia a.s. recognises its shared responsibility for the sustainable use of raw materials, including conflict materials. We are aware that these materials are in some cases used to directly and indirectly finance military conflicts in a number of countries in the Great Lakes region of Central Africa.

We will make every effort to ensure that our products do not contain conflict materials such as tin, tantalum, tungsten, for which the minerals are mined in the Democratic Republic of Congo and some other neighbouring countries.

With this policy, we want to contribute to both the promotion of conflict-free sourcing of raw materials and the development of conflict-free supply chains.

In doing so, we also support the intent of Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Act (the Financial Market Reform and Consumer Protection Act), i.e., to minimize or end human rights abuses by preventing the use of so-called conflict minerals from problem areas in Central Africa.

We therefore require our suppliers to:

In the event that Zbirovia a.s. discovers that the supplied materials or semi-finished products contain elements that have been produced from so-called conflict minerals originating from problem areas in Central Africa, Zbirovia a.s. will require the supplier to take and implement appropriate corrective measures.

Unless a remedy is agreed, Zbirovia a.s. will seek to switch to suppliers that do not use conflict materials sourced from problem areas in Central Africa.
